It is my huge honour to be able to greet and welcome you to the MT400 ITF World Tennis Masters Tour - International Championships of Croatia, Umag and the MT700 ITF World Tennis Masters Tour - GMP CUP Umag, which will be held from 29 August to 11 September 2022 at the Stella Maris centre at the ATP Stadium, the home of the oldest Croatian ATP tournament, on behalf of the Croatian Seniors Tennis Association, the organiser TC Tenax, partners, sponsors, all people participating in the organisation of these demanding sports events and on my personal behalf. Along with many well-known players from all over the world, this year once again the tournament in Umag will host the best Croatian tennis players in 30+ age categories, who will have the opportunity to play with some of the best world senior tennis players and showcase their skills. The International Tennis Federation – ITF has decided to place their trust in us and has given the chance to the organiser TC Tenax, the Croatian Seniors Tennis Association, partners, Plava Laguna, the City of Umag, the Tourist Board of the City of Umag and sponsors, after having organised ITF tournaments in 2019, 2020 and 2021, to once again organise MT400 and MT700 grade ITF tournaments in Umag, which will surely be major senior events held at one location in Umag at the ATP Stadium over the span of two weeks. The organisation of such large tennis events and the scale of the tournament will be a new challenge for the ITF, the Croatian Seniors Tennis Association, the organiser TC Tenax, their partners, but also for all those whose selfless work contributed to their organisation. Our common wish is to make you feel good in Umag and for you to play the best possible tennis, simply because the quality and skills of all age groups represented in the tournament programme will inspire you to do your best, in the same way as we do our best to succeed in all segments of the organisation of such grand and significant tennis events. No matter what the final results show, we know one thing for sure: all participants and guests will feel great in Umag. In hopes that the best players win and that everyone else enjoys the matches played by the great names of tennis, I would like to invite you and your guests to be a part of the sports events in Umag in 2022.
